Between 1815 and 1846 the Corn Laws were enacted in Great Britain imposing taxes and duties on imported grains and maintaining a high cost for home grown grains.

This wonderful pearlware jug captures the opposition to the Con Laws. There are the epithets 'Our bread tzed, our commerce free' and 'No monopoly' and 'Cheap corn'
Chip to inner rim, otherwise in very good condition and particularly good transfers.
