Fine quality unusually large 8-inch [210 mm] diameter 19th Century brass cased aneroid barometer. The well-engraved silvered brass dial with, exposed barometer movement, bearing twin curved thermometers - alcohol Centigrade and mercury Fahrenheit scales, protected by bevelled plate glass. The case profile exaggeratedly dished.

The firm of Pertuis Hulot et Naudet Barometres, was pre-eminent in the manufacture of the aneroid barometers during the 3rd quarter of the 19th Century. The retailer, James Pyott was an accomplished chronometer and watch maker, recorded at 74 West India Dock Road, London, from 1865-85.
