The 5 inch white enamel Roman dial is signed for the retailer Howell, James & Co., [jewellers] to the Queen and LONDON, PARIS, and has matching gilt hands.
The French 8-day bell-striking movement is signed by the maker Marti et Cie, within their bronze medal motif. It is also signed for Howell & James.
1860 - Medaille de Bronze
1889 - Medaille d'Argent
Further, in 1884, Howell, James & Co. became a limited company and their name changed to Howell & James Ltd.
This clock therefore dates between 1860 and 1883.
