A carrying case opens to removable skittle alley, which is baize lined with mahogany mounts, having 9 turned skittle pins and two sets of three balls.
The model is in our experience unique and may well be a one off example.
English, circa 1870-1900
Case 20” (50cm) x 6” (15cm) x 6” (15cm) (max)
Stock No. 9603
The skittle pins stand on the marked spots and the player can adjust the angle of the chute to aim. One of the balls is placed on the top of the chute and is released by a spring-loaded knob to set the ball in motion down the delivery ramp, the object being to see who can get the most skittle pins down with the least or all of their three balls for each attempt. Played balls and fallen skittle pins remain in place for each of the players' three attempts.
