A rare Portobello pottery figure
Rathbones period circa 1830
Well modelled as a fish wife with heavy creel of fish on her back, suspended in traditional fashion around the forehead by a strap. Boldly painted in polychrome enamels, and raised on a square moulded base, with canted corners and enamelled in black.
Painted chips to rim of creel. Typical minor wear to the enamel. Otherwise perfect.
