The Emperor Qianlong was the fourth manch Emperor to reign over all of China. he was in reality the 4th son of the Emperor Yongzheng. His reign began with great prosperity with European trade but by the end of his reign he was Emperor of a very troubled empire. he abdicated out of respect to his Grandfather the Great Kangxi as he did not want to reign for longer than Kangxi. Although he was not actually the Emperor he still governed from behind the throne until his actuaal death in 1799
