Quality Victorian Oak Antique Triple Wardrobe/Press.
This Victorian oak antique triple wardrobe/press, circa 1850, is of superior quality. It is in the style and class of Gillows of Lancaster and constructed of the finest oak. The antique wardrobe has a moulded cornice above a central arched bevelled mirror flanked by two stunningly figured arched doors with key and working locks.
Behind the left door and mirror you will find a brass hanging rail that runs above four oak lined linen trays. The right hand interior has a single brass hanging rail. This section sits above a deep double drawer compared to the left hand lower section that has a two over two configuration of graduating oak lined drawers with quality brass replacement handles. The whole piece stands on a moulded plinth and owns its original back boards.
Despite its grand appearance and size the antique triple wardrobe splits into five sections making transportation easier than one might think and a more feasible option for the home that may not have Victorian proportions. It is a gorgeous rich golden oak with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
