A rare antique silver octofoil salver with a scalloped border and standing on 3 curved panelled feet. Very plain style. This piece is made of heavy gauge silver and has a good weight. The patina is excellent. Hand engraved to the centre is a contemporary armorial within a decorative cartouche. Weight 734 grams, 23.6 troy ounces. Diameter 265 cms. Height 5.5 cms. Dublin circa 1710. Maker Thomas Bolton (or Boulton), Dublin silversmith, working circa 1710. These 8 sided salvers generally date between 1710 and 1730 and are extremely sought after.
A fine early Irish antique silver salver in very good condition with no damage or repair. Thick gauge silver. Excellent antique colour. Contemporary engraved arms. Struck 3 times with makers mark only.
