An excellent quality pair of sterling silver candle holders. Lovely plain style typical of the Queen Anne period. Very solid and heavy cast metal with knopped and baluster vase shaped stems and square hollowed out bases with canted corners. These candlesticks have attractive bands of lobed and gadroon decoration and are very realistic copies of candlesticks of the 1695-1700 period. Weight 849 grams, 27.3 troy ounces. Height 16 cms. Base 10.5x10.5 cms. London 1966. Maker CJ Vander Ltd (C.J.V Ld).
These lovely silver candlesticks are in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. The silver marks are stamped underneath the bases and are clear and easy to read. The makers marks are less legible but are unmistakably by CJ Vander Ltd (C.J.V Ld).
