Item Description / Dealer Expertise

A fine and rare anti-slavery bag, the front with a panel printed with a depiction of a kneeling, chained negro slave. The reverse with a six line anti-slavery verse.
A hand written note gives some of it's history:
'Jane Neale to her dear friend Sarah Lloyd. christianstown 4th month 26th 1827, lent by Mrs Pearse. Pendower'.
