Look at what I found on the Online Galleries website!
The rich mahogany case has fine flame veneers to the door and base. The oval dial aperture has a frame of crossbanding, edged in contrasting string inlay. This is reflected in the oval inlay to the base, similarly edged with a darker contrasting string, set within quarter veneers and flanked with canted corners. The case has numerous complementary details including dentil cornicing to the swan neck pediment, reeded pillars to the hood and quarter pillars to the trunk.
The dial is beautifully painted with the traditional 'strawberry corners' and with restrained gesso framing a well-painted image of Lady Justice, with sword and balance scales. It has a crescent shaped date aperture and subsidiary seconds indication.
Original matching polished brass hands.
Eight day rack striking movement, striking on a bell.
