Roman Empire, c. 1st-2nd Century AD

A delicate gold earring comprised of an oval-box-like bezel set with cameo of a lady's face; surrounding plate decorated with incuse triangular decoration in radial fashion; Trapezoid bar at base from which are suspended three pelleted drops ornamented with garnets set en cabuchon and glass bead at base of central drop.

'S-hook' on reverse.
