A very rare Wedgwood bone china porcelain inkwell, c. 1815. The body finely painted to either side, with spring flowers, in polychrome enamels. Having gilded handles, and rims.
Printed 'WEDGWOOD' mark in iron red.
Wear to the gilding, otherwise in perfect condition.
Wedgwood 'Bone China' was only produced between 1812 - 1830, before being abandoned until 1878. Most production was of tea wares. Inkwells are particularly rare.
