Circa 1830, wonderful William IV calamander and mother of pearl inlaid tea caddy. This rare tea caddy has a wonderful sarcophagus shape and domed top, lifting handles, and a very stylish mother of pearl and brass inlaid escutcheon. Inside is a polished calamander interior with two removable tea canisters with dome tops and very unusual hinging mechanism, in wonderful condition. In the centre is a cut crystal mixing bowl which appears to be original and fits very snugly in the central aperture. The tea caddy has a small beaded frieze at the bottom and stands on 4 squat solid calamander feet. Wonderful example.

Size 20cm high x 33cm wide x 17cm deep.
