Regency Mahogany Antique Bureau / Bookcase.
This majestic Regency mahogany antique bureau / bookcase, circa 1810, has a moulded cornice with dental moulding detail. With two astragal glazed doors, having key and working lock, the interior has three adjustable shelves and has a small adaption to the original design which was made early in its life making the piece more unique. The lower section has a beautifully figured fall front and the interior has several small mahogany lined drawers with a central cupboard door and pigeon holes. The base of the antique bureau has four graduating cock beaded drawers with brass swan neck handles and finely pierced brass rococo key escutcheons. The piece stands on shaped bracket feet and is a warm, medium mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing. Please note this piece of furniture splits into two sections which aids removal and transportation.
