Regency period mahogany wine cooler, the interior with a central section flanked by two lidded compartments, the whole with well figured timbers standing on finely carved feet.

Wine-coolers and Cellarettes were widely used from the 18th century & throughout the 19th century for chilling wine. They tend to be wooden, often mahogany or oak strengthened with brass bands to the outer edge, and lead-lined with a bung to release melted ice.
