Item Description / Dealer Expertise
A fine Regency rosewood music Canterbury of rectangular galleried form retaining excellent original colour and patina. The four turned shaped and ringed corner pillars joined by square section concave top stretchers, divided into four sections, by vertical slat shaped pillars, with integrated central carry handle. Below a drawer with turned rosewood knob handles, standing on tapering, ring turned legs terminating in brass cap castors. Canterbury’s were originally designed to hold sheet music, today there main use would be a magazine or book rack, this particular one is of a very good size and has particularly well figured rosewood, excellent colour and patina.
