The proposed work, made in the first half of the eighteenth century, is part of the painting landscape Roman artistic scene, made famous by names such as Paolo Anesi, Paolo Monaldi and Alessio De Marchis.

Stylistically similar, these authors developed the vision of the Roman landscape, transforming the canons of classicism into more modern results. In this landscape, the author has drawn the style and compositions of the novel Paolo Anesi (Rome 1697 - 1773).

In detail, we find the same characteristics as his "fantastic" landscapes, inspired by the provinces of Lazio. It is a picturesque view of nature, with only a few small numbers, a watercourse ending with a waterfall on the left and a village of carateristico in the background: in this pictorial context, the goal is to free the view of the usual literary and arcadic classicism.

In his works Anesi combines the ideal landscape tradition Frans van Bloemen, Claude Lorrain, Gaspar van Wittel, with new eighteenth-century influences of Roman taste, elegant and original, with resolutions that seem to anticipate neo-classicism.

The painting reveals a good pictorial quality, characterized by a soft texture and refined velvets that reproduce the atmospheric sensitivity of the air filled with light. The painting, dating from the first half of the eighteenth century, is in an excellent state of preservation.

The work is accompanied by a gilded frame, not antique. This work, like all our object is accompanied by a certificate of photographic authenticity by law.
