This very fine and unusual dish is Restoration in style, its design influenced by the large sideboard dishes in the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle. The dish is circular in form, with a raised lobed border formed as sixteen panels divided by moulded flutes and each panel embossed with a flower and stem. The centre is beautifully chased with a central Tudor Rose surrounded by a raised band of willow leaves and berries. The underside of the dish is engraved with the Royal cyper of Queen Charlotte, with the Sovereign's Crown above. In addition it is also engraved with a Royal Ducal coronet, above the Garter Motto enclosing a lion stagnant upon a further Royal Crown, this denoting a son of George III & Queen Charlotte. It was almost certainly a gift from the Queen to one of her sons. This piece is in excellent condition, with fine gilding and marks. The quality of this piece is exceptional as would be expected from this fine maker, who was in partnership with Paul Storr, earlier in his career.

Height: 1.35 inches, 3.38cm.
Diameter: 9.1 inches, 22.75cm.
Weight: 19oz.
