Russian silver cape buckle engraved and decorated with niello. Inscribed Kavkaz, which translates as 'from the Caucasus', and probably refers to a military campaign. The reverse with silver mark '84' (875-1000) and the city mark for St. Petersburg - two anchors crossing a sceptre. The maker's mark for Alexandr Vasilbev Domnin, who worked from 1896 - 1917. The buckle is held closed by a miniature Caucasian kindjal dagger. All of very fine quality and in fine condition.
