Othello Radou was born in Monte Carlo in 1910, son of a French violinist. On the death of his father he moved to Paris to find work; at the same time his childhood love of drawing led him to attend classes tutored by the artist Jean Lombard (1895-1983), who encouraged him to work and exhibit with the group of artists known as ‘Vert Bois’. From the 1940’s onwards Othello Radou exhibited regularly at the ‘Salon d’Automne’, ‘Salon des Indépendants’ and ‘Salon des Réalités Nouvelles’, as well as a critically acclaimed one man show at the Galerie Camille Renault in 1971. During his long career he had three canvases purchased by the French State for the ‘Musée National d’Art Moderne’, and was commissioned to execute several murals for various scholastic establishments. Othello Radou exhibited throughout France as well as Germany, Canada and Lebanon.
