A pair of portrait miniatures of Francis Pole and his wife. He is wearing a collarless blue jacket and white chemise and softly tied cravat and a full bottomed wig, his wife is wearing a white bodice with frilled neckline and a blue overdress, her long hair is worn with a centre parting and held back.

Oil on copper in oval gilt frames with reeded edges.

The Poles were an ancient Staffordshire family. One of the family seats was Radbourne Hall which an ancestor furnished with the spoils from Dale Abbey when it was dissolved by Henry VIII.
