An exceedingly high quality Edinburgh made longcase clock by a well known maker. It is of typical early 19th Century Scottish design and has a break arch top hood with a central cresting and brass finial. The trunk has a figured door and reeded side columns, and a figured panel base. The circular dial is signed by the maker, James Whitelaw of Edinburgh. The well engineered 8 day movement has shaped plates and strike the hours on a bell. James Whitelaw is listed as a maker born in 1776 and died in 1846.
The case is in very good original condition, the dial is in excellent original condition, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. UK delivery and set up is available. If you would like a video clip of this clock ticking and striking please email us.
