The trunk has a break arch long door and a shaped plinth base. The heavy brass dial has a silvered chapter ring, a date window, and an engraved and silvered name plaque within the arch signed Sam Brown, Edinburgh (listed as a clockmaker 1750-1787.) The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell, and has a nice decorated pendulum bob.Inside the door is a period label saying "Samual Brown, opposite the guard, north side of the street Edinburgh 1750-87"
The case has been re-polished, the dial restored and the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. Delivery and set up available. If you would like a video clip f this clock striking and ticking please email us.
