Under glazed blue swords mark (on the baluster vases)
Height 6.3 inch (16 cm) and 7.7 inch (19,5 cm)
Set of three "Schneeballen" vases, covered with moulded blossoms, leaves and branches. Every vase bears two birds, moulded in a naturalistic manner. Two vases in baluster form with covers, the third has a wide opening.
The decor with three dimensional elements came into vogue after Johann Joachim Kaendler received the leadership of the moulders in 1740 (as successor of Johann Gregorius Hoeroldt). With the "Schneeballenblütendessin" a great success was achieved and many manufactories in Europe as well as in China copied this splendid style of decoration.
