A fine handsome and completely original Sheraton period mahogany & tulipwood banded serpentine sideboard of excellent colour and patina, with the use of choice timbers & veneers throughout. The serpentine top cross banded in tulipwood and strung with box, the edge banded in flame mahogany. Below a central shallow drawer adjoined either side by a pair of drawers on the left and a deeper double drawer on the right, all in excellent flame veneers, cross banded in tulip wood, strung with box and retaining the original octagonal gilt brass ring handles. The central serpentine shaped frieze cross banded in tulipwood, strung with box with corner leaf and shell central pattarae. The sideboard is supported on square section tapering legs strung with box and terminating in spade feet, the left side has the original pot cupboard towards the lower rear. We must stress what a fabulous original piece of furniture this is, of superb quality throughout with excellent original colour & patina.
Excellent. Possible minor old restorations, cleaning & waxing. Brassware believed to be original.
