A good example of a French mid 20th century singing bird automaton in a gilt cage.

When the tweeting plays, the bird moves its beak, turns its head and flaps its tail and sings.

The bird is wound from the base and operated by a lever which protrudes to the side of the base.

The bird's plumage of real feathers is in brown, grey and with russet wings.
The mechanical movement is overhauled, and guaranteed for 3 years.
