Sir Winston Churchill's half smoked cigar butt, still with its foil wrap for Macanudo , jamaica, F Palicio Jamaica Ltd. The cigar butt belonged to the late Mrs G Hammond, who was evacuated to 'Kingsview', in Bladon, during the early years of the war. In 1941 while walking in the front garden of 'Kingsview', a cigar butt was thrown over the garden wall, by Sir Winston Churchill as he passed by, on his way to visit the grave of his parents, Lord and Lady Randolph Churchill, in Bladon Churchyard, near Blenheim Palace.
Churchill quotation. "Tobacco is bad for love, but old age is worse, and smoking cigars is like falling in love; first you are attracted to its shape: you stay with it for its flavour: and you must always remember never, never let the flame go out."
Good
