A small, high quality French mantel clock, dating to the mid 1800's. It has a rosewood shaped waisted case, with fine satinwood marquetry inlay. It has an embossed brass bezel and an engine turned and silvered dial. The 8 day movement has a silk suspension and is bell striking on the hours and halves. The movement is stamped by the makers "Dupont et Dixon,et Fils Paris"
