A fine, very original, small proportioned Regency period rosewood bracket clock. It has a gadrooned chamfer top surmounted by a brass pineapple. The case has brass inlay with canted brass corners and brass side handles and brass ball feet. The 6 inch diameter convex dial has a brass bezel and convex glass. The dial is signed by the maker, Archibald Haswell of London. It has an 8 day timepiece fusee movement with a pendulum holdfast and glazed back door. An Archibald Haswell is listed as working 1839-1875, although this clock pre-dates this by approximately 10 years, so possibly the entry refers to the makers son.
The case retains its original excellent finish, the dial has been professionally restored, retaining the original round. The movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months
