A very good quality rosewood mantel clock made by Payne of New Bond Street dating to the mid Victorian period. It has a rectangular rosewood case of simple lines, a bevel edge glass and an enamel dial signed Payne & Co.163, New Bond Street, London. It has an 8 day pendulum movement that strikes the hours and halves on a bell and is engraved by the Maker on the backplate.
