A small, light oak case 8 day longcase clock, dating to the middle of the 19th Century. It has a swan neck hood with reeded side columns and a break arched door. The trunk has a long door with an arched top and quartered reeded side columns. The well painted dial has subsidiary seconds and date dials and is signed by the maker John Wilkie of Cupar, Fife. It has an 8 day movement that sounds the hours on a bell. It has very unusual signed cast iron and painted weights.

John Wilkie is listed as working 1830-60.

The paper in the door details the provenance back to at least 1948.
The case has been repolished, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you would like a video clip of this clock striking and ticking please email us
