An extremely fine Spanish Catalan lattimo twist cantir

These were frequently used as wedding gifts in Spain from the 17th century.

Although examples are known from the late 17th century it is generally accepted that the Catalan lattimo decorated Cantirs date to the early 18th century.

Glass production in Catalonia dwindled due to severe deforestation after 1720 and relocated to Segovia, it is worthy of noting that the lattimo design does not appear to have been used following the relocation.
