ST. IVES HARBOUR
TERRICK JOHN WILLIAMS

Terrick Williams was born in Liverpool on 20 July 1880 and lived for many years in London. He studied art in Antwerp under Verlat from 1885 to 1886 and in Paris at the Academie Julian from 1887 to 1889. He became a marine and landscape painter using oils, watercolour and pastel.
He exhibited his work at the Royal Academy from 1890.
In 1908 he won a silver medal at the Paris Salon, a gold medal in 1911 and a third class medal at the Barcelona Exhibition of 1911. Williams was elected member of the following; Associate of the Royal Academy in 1924; Royal Academician in 1933; Royal Society of British Artists in 1894; Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in 1904; PRI in 1934; Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 1903; and VP ROI in 1933 and was also a member of the Society of 25 Artists. He continued to exhibit his work extensively and also painted excellent insure and quayside scenes.
Williams painted many subjects in Venice & France.
He died in Plymouth on 20 July 1936.
This is a rare Cornish view by the artist.
