The impressive plain sabre style knife blades have a broad incurved shaped form, and the forks have four tines with a shaped cylindrical shaft.
The anterior surface of each fork and knife blade is ornamented with impressive bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decoration accented with scroll motifs.
The reverse surface of each piece is plain embellished with a simple paralleling border.
Each piece of this service is fitted with an exceptional carved ivory handle realistically modelled in the form of a bamboo stalk.
This fine fish service is fitted to the fine and impressive original hinged oak box with a lift up lid and bespoke velvet lined interior.
The box is ornamented with brass fittings, including a vacant shaped cartouche and escutcheon.

The box is also in excellent presentation condition and has been professional polished by a cabinet maker.
There is some minor crazing to the handles, as to be expected in keeping with age.
The bright cut engraved and tooled decoration is all very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the fish knife blades and reverse of the fish forks are all very clear.
