Joseph de Noter was a painter of Interiors and still life.
He was born in Ghent in 1825 and died in Alger in 1892.

De Noter exhibited in Courtrai, London and Brussels and won various medals. He lived with J. Goupil in Paris in 1864 and at Le Vesinet in 1867. He participated in Paris Art Exhibitions in 1855 and 1864.
He is also known to have made some engraving and toured North Africa.

The Courtrai Museum has one of his works on panel of Birds and Flowers and the Brussels Museum have a still life.
