Here is Weissbort’s answer to Cézanne’s Green apples of 1873 or Gauguin’s Still life with apples: a re-imagining of that vibrant and idiosyncratic arrangement of randomly-selected, misshaped fruits as if through the classicizing eyes of Chardin. The result is a modern and intriguing take on a still life painting: an apparently fortuitous and accidental arrangement of rather humble fruit, given depth and a classical harmony.
