Tall, Slim, Antique Georgian Mahogany Bookcase/Cupboard.
This elegant antique bookcase/cupboard is tall and slim and is from the Georgian period, circa 1800.
It has a moulded cornice with dental moulding above an astragal glazed door with key and working lock. The interior has two removable shelves. The lower section has a beautifully figured cupboard door with a raised fielded central panel and key and working lock with two interior shelves. The antique bookcase stands on shaped bracket feet and has been adjusted to this unique and practical size at some point earlier in its life, giving it ideal proportions for the modern home. It splits into two sections and is a warm, medium mahogany with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
