A PAIR OF GEORGE II MAHOGANY STOOLS

The 1st Earl Howe (1726-1799) was an Admiral of the British Fleet and in charge of blockading the American coast during the American War of Independence. Some years later, while in command of the Channel Fleet, he won the ‘Glorious First of June’, or Fourth Battle of Ushant, against the French in 1794.
