| LYNCH |
Born in Colchester, Lynch first came to notice with his 1909 drawing Just Published, a homage to Aubrey Beardsley and Robert Ross (now in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum). He was introduced to the publisher Grant Richards and seemed to have worked only for him, illustrating Ernest Bramah’s The Transmutation of Ling (1911), Lord Dunsany’s Five Plays (1914) and Ada Leverson’s Bird of Paradise (1914). He had a one-man show at the Fine Art Society in 1913. His portrait of Oscar Wilde is in the collection of the Clark Library, University of Los Angeles.
