Five volumes complete - Volume One - , 410pp, 13, ; Volume Two - 405pp, , 15-23, ; Volume Three - 420pp, 25-35, ; Volume Four - 334pp, 37-44 and Volume Five - 340pp, 45-50. Contemporary mottled calf, raised bands, spines in six panels, title in gilt to second panel, volume number to fifth, remaining panels with a repeated small tool making up an attractive lattice work design with flower head roll to foot. Slightly rubbed to extremities, corners lightly bumped. Internally a previous owner has added an index to front endpapers, with the names of the kings to the head of the relevant pages of text throughout. Generally lightly browned, volume two has a couple of worm holes to bottom margin throughout (not affecting text), volume four has a worm track from signatures N-P catching some text with occasional loss to letters but with no real loss of sense. Frontispiece to volume one and another fifty full-page plates throughout. Surprisingly uncommon, with only two locations (BL and NLS) on the ESTC
