Two volumes complete - Volume One - xxxvi, 371pp,  and Volume Two - xv, , 418pp, . Rebound in full morocco by Temple Bookbinders, raised bands, spines in six panels, title to second panel, volume to third and author to fourth, bands with a triple fillet and bordered by gilt single rule, covers with gilt single fillet border, gilt rules to inner edges, t.e.g., Cockerell marbled endpapers, with new pockets to rear pastedowns for maps. Externally very good indeed, internally some very minor light browning, but generally bright and clean. Original cloth from the upper cover and spine bound in at the rear of each volume, with the errata slip. Complete with two photogravure frontispieces, four double page photographic plates, two hundred and seventy-one single page photographic plates, twelve colour plates and four folding maps/panoramas (to rear pockets).
