Twenty-four volumes complete - The Pickwick Papers; Barnaby Rudge; Christmas Books; Collected Papers (two volumes); Dombey and Son; Great Expectations / Hard Times; Little Dorrit; Martin Chuzzlewit; The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Christmas Stories; The Old Curiosity Shop; Oliver Twist; The Personal History of David Copperfield; A Tale of Two Cities; American Notes etc; Bleak House; Letters (three volumes); Nicholas Nickleby; Our Mutual Friend; Reprinted Pieces; Sketches By Boz and the Wood block 'volume'. Original cloth in varying colours with morocco title labels, all edges untrimmed, top edge gilt 'in the rough'. A few spines slightly faded, very slightly rubbed. Page edges slightly browned, occasional light off setting from plates, but generally bright and clean. One of eight hundred and seventy-seven sets each with one of the original plates or engravings, this set with the woodcut entitled 'The Carrier's Cart' by Stanfield, with the letter of authenticity from the Deputy Chairman of Chapman and Hall. This does not have the 'Nonesuch Dickensiana' volume sometimes found with the set, which was effectively the prospectus for the set and was given away to anyone who requested it. Dreyfus 108
