viii, 136pp. Later full morocco for Hatchards, raised bands, spine in six panels, title and author to second panel, remaining panels with central flower device and flower corner pieces, date to foot of spine, covers with triple fillet border, roll to edges and inner edges all in gilt, t.e.g., others untrimmed, comb and curl marbled endpapers. Slightly rubbed to extremities, a few very small dark marks to head of upper cover, tiny split to head of front joint of upper cover. Text lightly browned, one or two spots of foxing to plates, but generally clean, a couple of the plates have small closed tears, some light off-setting onto text. Now housed in a somewhat worn cloth slipcase. A large paper copy, with twenty-four hand coloured aquatint plates, the original label from the boards is laid in before the half-title (often missing according to Tooley).Tooley 128 (octavo edition); Schwerdt I:95, "the plates are coarse but somewhat amusing", and Abbey Life 387
