---------------------------------------------------
David Jamin was born November 1970 in the South of France and studied fine art in Calais. Having a passion for drawing even as a small child, which has only grown yet stronger as the years have passed, it is no surprise to those close to him that he is moving up the art world ladder at speed.

When David paints, he is like a mime artist, working on his show in silence and with emotion. He has always, and continues to, experiment with many different techniques. Currently, most of his work is in oil, on canvas. He is skilled in all media, charcoal, chalk, pastel, watercolour, oil, and acrylic. Oil is David’s favoured medium as he loves its quality and texture – and acrylic is a close second, where the artist needs to work with a certain amount of speed due to the quickness of its drying time. Oil with a much longer drying time offers the opportunity to work in greater depths and a variety of techniques.

His studies for his work are mainly of the human being (sometimes horses), its movement in space and the impact of the gestural movements (sitting, standing or moving). Each painting crosses various techniques in order for him to explore more possibilities. Throughout his work he continues to look for the next discovery and variety, all the time following his own curiosity.
The human body is the back-bone of David’s paintings - those who have been following his career remember with great affection his musicians, maternity, faces, (with particular markings often with some interrogation), his nudes and his ladies.
More recently experimenting with fruit, and floral themes, and then once again returning to his much loved work with the human body, but this time in a semi-abstract form.

The Greci Marino International Academy named David as:

Académicien Correspondant 2001

Académicien Associe 2002

Chevalier Officiel Académique 2004

With ever more galleries clamouring for his work, Davids paintings are frequently sold before they have time to dry. David has now been accepted for inclusion in next edition of Benezit (The International Dictionary of Artists) and in spring 2007 the French Minister of Arts visited one of his exhibitions.

WE HAVE A LARGE COLLECTION OF DAVID'S PAINTINGS IN STOCK.
