The Shadow (FS II.267) is part of Andy Warhol’s 1981 "Myths" series. Warhol has portrayed himself as “The Shadow,” a popular radio crime fighter from the 1930s. The double portrait has him looking out at the viewer, which is reflected on the background as a dark, shadowy figure. This print is an exquisite example of Warhol's imposition of himself as the subject matter of his work, a rare occurrence. The Shadow is in excellent condition and is accented with diamond dust.
