| OAKLEY |
Charles Oakley was born in Manchester in 1925. He studied at The Slade and became senior lecturer in Painting in Belfast School of art. After many years in Ireland, he came to northern England in 1974 as principal lecturer in Fine Art at Newcastle Polytechnic.
He retired in 1984 to become a full time painter. He lives and works in Cumbria He won the Singer and Friedlander Competition in 2005. |
