Three volumes complete - Volume One - viii, 300pp; Volume Two - vi, 315pp,  and Volume Three - vi, 304pp. Original cloth, title, author, volume and publisher in gilt to spine, spine and upper cover with a flower design blocked in black, lower cover with publishers monogram blind stamped to centre. Very slightly rubbed to extremities, minor bump to front bottom corner of volume two, lower cover of volume two has a couple of small ink spots. Internally one or two instances of minor soiling to margins, occasional hint of foxing, but generally bright and clean. From the library of Estelle Doheny, with her oval label to front pastedowns, housed in a cloth drop back box. An attractive copy of probably the scarcest of Gissing's novels.
