| Item Description / Dealer Expertise |
Wood was born in Dublin where he studied at the Metropolitan School of Art. He was greatly influenced the Irish stained glass designer and illustrator, Harry Clarke, and worked in his studio for a time. In the late 1920s he moved to England were he married and settled in London. He later moved to Ansty, in Sussex where he established his studio specializing in semi-erotic, stylized watercolours of female figures. Although an eccentric and reclusive artist, Wood exhibited at the Royal Academy and Royal Hibernian Academy in Ireland. |
