Two volumes complete - Volume One - vii, , 378pp  and Volume Two - vi, , 3-279pp, . Early twentieth century calf, smooth backs, divided into three unequal panels, the first with author, title and volume, the second with a sunburst motif over the ocean and the third to foot with place and date all in gilt. Upper covers with title to head, author to foot, with another sunburst over the ocean motif, rear covers with central roundel and stars design, inner edges with small roundels and fleur de lis to corners, with vellum doublures, t.e.g. Ex-library (Wigan Public Library), with blind stamp to title and last page of text. Rubbed to extremities, couple of very minor splits to joints, some colour has been touched in to foot of rear joint of volume two and to the inner joints of both volumes. Internally fairly bright, occasional minor soiling, K3 and K4 of volume one grubby, but generally clean. The binding is by Starrs of Wigan.
